Becky Owens, PhD & Masters Level Intern Therapist

Becky is an intern therapist with experience working with children and teens in the foster care system utilizing equine therapy, and working with adults diagnosed with substance use disorder in a harm reduction, outpatient environment.  She has a background in Education and developed a microschool focusing on learning in the outdoor environment for neurodivergent children.  Becky provides a safe and compassionate environment where people can explore their thoughts and feelings and be guided to a place of change.  Becky utilizes evidence based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and a client centered approach to counseling.  

 

Qualifications

Currently enrolled at SNHU in Master of Arts Clinical Mental Health Program 

Under supervision by Brittany Barberian, LCMHC (NH License: 2578)

Obtained a  PhD from Capella University in Leadership for Higher Education
M.S. in Education and a B.A. in History from University of Southern Maine
